Monday 19th May - Friday 23rd May 2014
It's been a busy week with lots happening! On Monday we had our last session on the Life Education Bus. We are looking forward to seeing Harrold again next year.
As it is Science Week this week, on Tuesday we had a whole morning of science. We got into our whanau groups and went to four different classrooms and watched some science demonstrations and did some experiments. There are some photos up on Facebook.
Our topic this term is 'expressing our feelings through the arts'. This week we have been discussing feelings and acting out what they might look like. On Wednesday Kirsten (Jordan's mum) came in and did some art with us. She showed us different pictures and we talked about the different emotions they could be showing. The we made some feelings wheels, where we painted ourselves and then we can turn the wheel to make our faces show different feelings. Thanks Kirsten for coming in and doing that with us, we all really enjoyed it.
For Maths this week we have been looking at fractions. We have been learning about half and how each half has to be the same size. Here is some of the things we have made.
For Discovery Time today we kept up with the fraction theme and made pizzas, to show what half looks like. We also had painting, boxes, the dolls house, mobile and the marble racer. Kirsty (Hayden's mum) came in and did a science experiment with us which was pretty cool.
