Week 10 Term 2

On Monday morning we were busy getting our hands dirty as we helped pot up little native plants with the support of the Department of Conservation. They will be looked after at the nursery and then in a couple of years be replanted up at Kaitoke.
It was a wonderful opportunity and a new experience for most of us. Thank you to Ranger Steve and his volunteers!

Week 9 Term 2

Pukeko children love reading! We are learning to enjoy books and as we read we practise our reading strategies so we get better and better!

We love reading together and being read to. Tuesday is the day we visit the school library and we love being there with Mrs Davidson, she makes our visits fun! Every 3 weeks the Mobile library bus visits and we choose more books and have story time with Jenny, again lots of fun!

Week 8 Term 2

As part of our Inquiry we have been involved in an Arts Rotation exploring different aspects of the Arts. Tui and Pukeko have worked together. Our last sessions have been Drama. We read Patricia Grace's story "The Kuia and the Spider". We worked in small groups to portray the ideas in the story.

On Friday we enjoyed time with our Ruru buddies reading together.
Buddy Reading is a great time to enjoy a story, milk and hang out with older friends at school!

Congratulations to Pipi for a great job helping to host our School Assembly on Friday. You did a wonderful job.
