Library Time

We love visiting our school library each Tuesday. Mrs Davidson makes our learning there so interesting and fun. We are learning how to use the Dewey Decimal system to find our way around the non-fiction section. This week we learnt where to find books about the Human Body.

We all had to find parts of our body and we talked about what is under our skin.
There is so much to discover and books can help us to do so!

Pataka Experience and Discovery Fun

This week we had a wonderful visit to Pataka Gallery and Museum. We had lots of hands-on learning experiences.Have a look at what we did.
Friday is Discovery day and today was a lovely sunny day so we enjoyed time to discover outside. The marble run was also very exciting!

Number 3 term 3

On Tuesday mornings we visit the school library. We have been learning about where to find picture books and other books we enjoy reading. We can find different parts of the book including author and illustrator.
This week Mrs Davidson had a surprise for us. The library had a string web all through it. We read a book "Secret Agent Splat" then we made Secret Agent badges and went for a hunt. We had to find a special code 796 on the spine of nonfiction books. Do you know what these books are about?
This week Kyla-Grace helped to lead assembly. She greeted us at the door.
Well done Kyla you did a great job!

Number 2 Term 3

Last week was Te wiki o Te reo. We are learning simple commands.
We listened to Peter Gossage's story How Maui Slowed the Sun. We wrote to retell the story and we have begun our sketches of Te Ra based on Peter Gossage's work.
Here are our published stories which are on display in our classroom.

We hope you enjoy reading them.
