Week 3 Term 4: Bush walk and Aquarius
On Tuesday we went for a walk up in our bush. We were listening carefully and looking closely as we explored. We are so lucky to have this taonga as part of our school. We heard tuis and saw a little fantail. Up at the lookout we sat and looked down on the school. We also looked right across the valley to the big hills on the other side.We can go up into the bush on Fridays, it is a great place to explore, to spy on the playground and to enjoy some peaceful moments!

Week 2 Term 4 Gingerbread Men
Our shared book this week has been The Gingerbread Man. We've read the traditional story, a poem, a recipe and we've looked at a map of the story. We wrote our own stories. On Thursday we made and decorated our own gingerbread men! They were delicious. Thanks to Mrs Hannan for coming in and helping us. We had fun measuring, stirring, mixing, kneading, rolling, cutting and decorating! And here we are with them just before we ate them!

Week 1 Term 4: Firewise, Shakeout, Library bus and a lamb called Fred
Welcome back to the last term of this year. Another busy week in Pukeko. We have been investigating Fire Safety and had a visit from the Firefighters. If the smoke alarm beeps we know to Get down, get low, get out fast! Most of us have a plan with our families and a safe meeting place to go to once we get out of the house. We are Firewise!
Thursday was the Big Shakeout day when we practised our earthquake drill. We know to Drop, Cover and Hold.
Every third Thursday we visit the Mobile Library bus where we can choose new books and usually listen to a story.

End of Term 3
Term 3 has been another busy term and we have done lots of work and had some interesting learning experiences.
The highlights were our trip to Pataka Art Gallery and Museum and Library week culminating in our Library week parade which our grandparents also attended.
Spring has arrived but the last couple of weeks felt more like winter! However the last day of term was a lovely warm sunny day and so we made the most of it by spending time outside during Discovery Time.
