Moving March

Over the last few weeks our children have been involved in Moving March. This is supported by the Wellington Regionall Council to encourage us to walk, ride a bike or scooter for some part of our journey to school. As part of Moving March we have had some special events including Fancy Feet Friday, Wheels  Wednesday and Transport Thursday. Here are some images from these three fun filled events.
Thanks so much to Mrs Freemantle for organising these events. And a special thank you to Neville for his generosity in bringing his wonderful wheels to school for us to share!

Drumming Interactive

This Thursday we had a special event. Everyone at school had the opportunity to participate in some drumming on individual African drums. We learnt how to use our fingers and our hands to beat on the drum. We learnt a number of different rhythms and our drumming was AMAZING!
Maybe some of us will take drum lessons in the future!
This week Daniel Byrne was one of the hosts for Assembly. He did a great job, Ka pai Daniel.

Learning in our Library

Each Tuesday morning we visit our school library. Mrs Davidson our librarian makes our learning time in there so much fun! We have been learning how to find books in the picture book section and we know how to use the letters on the spine to return books to their correct places.
This week we had to find some words on cards and then find them in our browsing books.
I wonder what we will find next week? Thanks Mrs Davidson for your great ideas!
