Monday 17th - 21st June 2013
Lots has been happening this week!
On Monday Constable Kerry Fenton came to talk to us as part as our 'Being a good Citizen' topic. He gave us some good examples of being a good citizen and talked about what can happen if you are not a good citizen. Our teacher was impressed at the examples we told Constable Fenton about being a good citizen.
On Wednesday morning we had the Graham Braddock Art Workshop. We all drew a picture of a penguin by a bucket on the beach. All of our drawings look amazing as we did a good job taking our time and listening to instructions.
This week we also finished stage two of our phonics programme and next week will start on stage 3. This will be looking at CVC words and blending them together.
During Discovery Time this morning, we made snowflakes, mobiles, and butterfly cards. We worked so well together that we had a bit longer for Discovery today.
Great update! What a diverse week the kids are having. (Re phonics: what are CVC words? Just interested!)
ReplyDeleteCVC words are words that follow the pattern consonant-vowel-consonant. They are the easiest words to sound out.
