Monday 24th June - Friday 27th June 2014.

On Thursday the Tuatara, Pukeko and Tui rooms went to the Dowse Museum.  We all excitedly caught  the bus down to Lower Hutt, arriving at 9:45am.  We had some morning tea then talked and showed what feelings would match to different colours.  After this we broke into two groups to do our own art.  We all made joy boxes which are little matchbox stick boxes that we decorated with a long folded piece of paper inside.  On this piece of paper we drew things that made us happy on each fold.  So whenever we are feeling down we can go get our joy boxes and they can cheer us up!
We then headed downstairs where our guide told us all about a man who made dolls.  We had the opportunity to look at some of his dolls.
This was the end of our trip and we caught the bus back to school just in time for lunch.  It was a really good trip and we all enjoyed it.

The second half of this term we have been doing folk dancing in P.E.  Here we are doing some of the dances outside.  So far we have learnt Carnavalito, Seven Jumps, The Jiffy Mixer and the Bird Dance.
